As a medical malpractice defense attorney, Varner-Powell represented hospitals and health care professionals for nearly 20 years. In 2020, she left litigation to join the Mutual Insurance Company of Arizona as the senior legal risk management consultant. In this position, she writes and speaks on medical professional liability topics and consults directly with insured physicians and practices.
