Pharmacology Seminar Series

Sally E. Dickinson, PhD, will host "Targeting Pro - and Anti-Inflammatory Pathways in the Epidermis for Prevention of UV-Induced Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer" as part of the Pharmacology Seminar Series.

Our laboratory is interested in understanding how stress signaling caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light leads to the promotion and progression of non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC). We are currently studying whether regulation of two contrasting regulators of stress responses, the innate immune receptor TLR4 and the immune checkpoint regulator PD-L1, can be viable targets for topical clinical applications in patients at high risk for NMSC.
