The Tomorrow is Here Lecture Series will share research, breakthroughs and discoveries from University of Arizona Health Sciences researchers.

People with migraine, fibromyalgia and other types of pain have benefited from the effects of light therapy using different colors. Learn about the scientific evidence behind phototherapy, including recent research discoveries related to pain and other conditions and possible mechanisms of action.

Mohab Ibrahim, MD, PhD, is the medical director of the Comprehensive Pain and Addiction Center at the University of Arizona Health Sciences, director of the Chronic Pain Management Clinic and a professor of anesthesiology in the College of Medicine – Tucson. He is an international expert in the field of chronic pain.

Dr. Ibrahim is a board certified anesthesiologist as well as a pain management specialist. Chronic pain is one of the most challenging fields of medicine and Dr. Ibrahim is a leading expert in the field.

He began his career in chronic pain research and treatment at the University of Arizona's Department of Anesthesiology. He obtained his master's degree and doctorate in the field of pharmacology and toxicology focusing on neuropathic and chronic pain. He chose the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson to pursue his interest in learning the most cutting edge research in pain. Dr. Ibrahim completed his general surgery internship at the University of Arizona. He joined the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, part of Harvard Medical School in Boston, for a residency in anesthesiology, critical care and pain medicine. After his residency he was a clinical pain fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, also part of Harvard Medical School.
