Upon completion of Pediatric Grand Rounds, participants should be able to:

  1. understand the difference between physiological transitional hypoglycemia and pathological hypoglycemia.
  2. assess the role of alternate brain fuels on the risk of hypoglycemic brain damage.
  3. review the AAP/PES guideline controversy.
