Dr. Zgoda holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky and an Master of Business Administration with a concentration in health care management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. His experience spans various leadership roles. Before joining Banner Health, he served as the Academic Chairman of Medicine at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona. He also held the Robert Craig Endowed Chairmanship of the Department of Medicine at Dignity Health Medical Group.

Dr. Zgoda has a strong history of creating and executing quality initiatives and continuous process improvements, resulting in significant operational performance and patient experience improvements. He has launched multiple successful ventures in both for-profit and non-profit sectors.
