Event Description

The heart of midwifery and women's health care is to promote healing and optimal wellness.  This presentation will focus on true wellness across the lifespan and will include key updates for women's health on issues including cervical cancer screening, breast health, menstruation and menopause. Come talk with midwife Lisa Kiser, DNP, CNM, WHNP, and bring your questions and comments.

Presenter Details

Dr. Lisa Kiser is an associate clinical professor who has been on the faculty at the University of Arizona since 2011. Dr. Kiser is a native Tucsonan who is dedicated to supporting the mission and vision of the University of Arizona as a land-grant institution and a Hispanic-serving institute.  The focus of her clinical work is health equity, and she works as a women’s health nurse practitioner at United Community Health Center and as a volunteer provider with the Clinica Amistad free clinic. Dr. Kiser is one of the founding faculty members in the University of Arizona’s midwifery program, and she has helped create multiple courses in global and border health. Dr. Kiser’s vision for education in the health sciences is that students are directly engaged in responding to the urgent health issues facing our nation and the world as a critical part of their educational experience.
