The annual awards honor outstanding student organizations across the university. Among more than 500 registered student clubs, the AI and Public Health Club was among only nine organizations selected this year for distinguished recognition. The club was recognized for its commitment to creating impactful, forward-thinking initiatives at the intersection of artificial intelligence and public health.
The award also recognized the club's efforts to develop sustainable projects that leverage AI to address pressing public health challenges through education, collaboration and community engagement. The honor reflects the dedication of the club’s student members to advancing responsible, interdisciplinary approaches that align with the broader mission of improving population health and fostering innovation within the university community.
In addition to the recognition, the award included a $500 prize to support the continued growth and sustainability of the club’s programming.
“We are grateful for ASUA's support and proud to have our work acknowledged,” said Imran Hossain Mithu, MPH, the club president who is studying environmental health sciences at the Zuckerman College of Public Health. “We look forward to building upon this momentum to further contribute to public health education and innovation at the University of Arizona.”
