Jameshia N. Granberry, PhD, MBA
Jameshia N. Granberry, PhD, MBA, executive director of administrative operations at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, was named a provost fellow for the 2026 Provost Fellows for Academic Success Goals program.
Granberry, who is also the chief of staff for Michael M.I. Abecassis, MD, MBA, the Inaugural Humberto and Czarina Lopez Endowed Dean of the U of A College of Medicine – Tucson, said it was an honor to be part of the “Success for Every Student” program.
The program “reflects the University of Arizona’s commitment to student success as a shared, institution-wide responsibility and affirms the importance of designing systems that truly work for students,” said Granberry, an assistant professor in the College of Medicine – Tucson’s Department of Family and Community Medicine as well as the associate director of the Comprehensive Education Center. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute at a university level to ensure that every student has a clear path, meaningful support and the ability to thrive.”
Granberry, who came to the U of A in 2023, will serve a year-long appointment with the potential for a one-year extension. She said she is excited to collaborate with campus leaders in different areas.
“The Provost Fellows appointment allows us to move from alignment to action, strengthening advising, expanding experiential learning and building integrated systems that support every student from entry through completion,” she said.
The Provost Fellows program kicked off last fall. It is designed to engage distinguished faculty and staff members in advancing the university’s strategic imperatives and academic success goals. Fellows will work directly with the provost and campus leaders on programs and initiatives that advance the university’s goals for student success.
