College of Medicine – Tucson’s Holly Beach honored by athletic trainer group

Holly Beach, MD, an associate professor of family and community medicine and fellowship director for primary care sports medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, received the Dr. Javier Cardenas Special Recognition Award for Physicians.

Presented by the Arizona Athletic Trainers’ Association, the award honors physicians who demonstrate exceptional collaboration with athletic trainers, advocate for athlete health and safety, and advance the field of sports medicine.

“It has been a privilege to work alongside our Banner and community athletic trainers to provide the best care for injured athletes,” Beach said. “I am honored and humbled to have received this award.

After graduating from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Beach came to the U of A as a family and community medicine resident in 2003. After a sports medicine fellowship in 2007, she joined the U of A College of Medicine – Tucson as a faculty member.
