His groundbreaking work helped revolutionize vascular and cardiovascular care by advancing CT angiography as a noninvasive alternative to catheter angiography. His innovations in image visualization and automated detection techniques have become foundational in modern radiologic practice.
Rubin has written more than 300 articles, holds six U.S. patents and is the principal investigator on research projects that have been funded by the National Institutes of Health. His current research, supported by a National Cancer Institute grant, explores the use of artificial intelligence in medical imaging. He is investigating the use of machine learning on large data sets, with the goal of enhancing the interpretation of data to help radiologists operate more effectively.
