Kevin Liu, MD, to serve as interim chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at College of Medicine – Phoenix

While the national search for a permanent chief continues, Kevin Liu, MD, will serve as interim chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.

Dr. Liu is an advanced endoscopist recognized at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix as a clinical and endoscopic leader. He completed his medical training at Northwestern University, where he developed a clinical interest and expertise in foregut-related advanced endoscopic procedures, including POEM for the treatment of achalasia, gastroparesis and Zenker’s diverticulum.

He serves as medical director of endoscopy and leads the interventional endoscopy service line at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. He has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing patient outcomes, mentoring colleagues and advancing the field of advanced endoscopy.

The Department of Internal Medicine has formed a GI Executive Leadership Committee to support Dr. Liu. This group includes:
