It’s a Match! Celebrations at College of Medicine – Tucson
Anna Ressel and Radu Moga, who are engaged to be married in April, both matched at Banner – University Medical Center South in family medicine during the UArizona College of Medicine – Tucson 2022 Match Day event.
For the first time since 2019, College of Medicine – Tucson students held in-person Match Day celebrations with family and friends, which felt extra joyous after two years of pandemic-required physical distancing.
The day is the culmination of four years of study, research and rotations and occurs on the third Friday in March nationwide.
From breakfast burritos and donuts on every table, shooting sparklers and dance music, students along with family and friends celebrated the moment to mark the start of their medical careers.
While the majority of the soon-to-be residents will remain in Arizona, matches were made to hospital systems all over the country.
