For the first time since 2019, both the College of Medicine – Tucson and the College of Medicine – Phoenix held in-person Match Day celebrations with family and friends, which felt extra joyous after two years of pandemic-required physical distancing.

The day is the culmination of four years of study, research and rotations and occurs on the third Friday in March nationwide.

From dancing faculty and staff to balloons, confetti cannons and bouquets of flowers, students at both colleges, along with family and friends, celebrated the moment to mark the start of their medical careers.

While the majority of the soon-to-be residents will remain in Arizona, matches were made to hospital systems in nearly all 50 states.
