A Southern Arizona fire department removed a den of 11 snakes in a bricked area near a home. The Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center at the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy said that there are around 8,000 venomous snake bites in the U.S. every year and between 8 to 15 deaths.

Even though it’s only August, flu shots are now being offered at many pharmacies. Shad Marvasti, MD, associate professor of family and community medicine at the College of Medicine – Phoenix, recommends waiting until September or October to get the shot.

The 20th Anniversary Big Deal Poker Party – Vegas, Baby! on Friday, Sept. 22, at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, will raise funds for the Steele Children’s Research Center.
