Call for proposals: Clinical Scientist Award
University of Arizona Cancer Center
The University of Arizona Cancer Center is currently accepting applications for a new Clinical Scientist Award through July 15, 2024. These two-year awards develop clinical research training opportunities for individuals with clinical doctoral degrees interested in research relevant to the UArizona Cancer Center mission.
The Cancer Center anticipates awarding up to two projects with 25% “protected time” within clinicians' full-time professional effort. The long-term goal of this program is to promote a culture of extramurally funded clinician scientists at the Cancer Center.
These awards provide intensive mentored support in patient-oriented cancer research to clinical faculty (MD, MD/PhD, DO) near the beginning of their independent research careers. Career development will include didactic training, participation in relevant UACC symposia, retreats, workshops and Grand Rounds culminating in the preparation of an impactful investigator-initiated trial.
Applications are due by Monday, July 15 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
