Sarver Heart Center Lecture Series Returns to Green Valley

The University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center’s annual Green Valley Lecture Series will return Feb. 16 and March 16 with two lectures focused on heart beats.

The University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center’s annual Green Valley Lecture Series will return for the first time since 2020 with two lectures focused on heart beats.

The UArizona Sarver Heart Center Green Valley Lecture Series is offered in cooperation with Green Valley Recreation Inc. The lecture series, held at the Canoa Hills Social Center, is free and open to everyone. Each lecture includes time for questions and answers. No reservation is required, and refreshments will be provided.

Thursday, Feb. 16: “Heart Murmurs and Heart Failure”

Arka Chatterjee, MD, will discuss the definition of heart valve disease, how it impacts everyday life and treatment options. Dr. Chatterjee is a member of the Sarver Heart Center, associate professor of medicine at the UArizona College of Medicine – Tucson and medical director of the structural heart program at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson. 

Thursday, March 16: “Cardiac Arrhythmias: Current and Emerging Therapies”

Disorders of the heart rhythm are a common medical problem across a wide range of ages. Current medical therapies can offer a cure for many of these. Peter Ott, MD, will present current and emerging technologies to treat many of the most common heart rhythm disorders, improve quality of life and prevent strokes. Dr. Ott is a member of the Sarver Heart Center, associate professor of medicine at the College of Medicine – Tucson and The Peter Ott, MD, Endowed Chair of Electrophysiology at the Sarver Heart Center. He practices at Banner – UMC Tucson.
