Chiyoung Lee, PhD, RN
Assistant Professor
University of Washington Bothell

Chiyoung Lee earned her BSN and MSN from Seoul National University College of Nursing and her PhD at Duke University School of Nursing. Lee has a strong background in clinical nursing, having worked as a professional nurse at Samsung Medical Center in South Korea and as a clinical instructor at Seoul National University Hospital. Lee's research in mental health encompasses three interconnected areas:

  1. Exploring the biological foundations of mental disorders.
  2. Investigating the dynamics of symptoms within and across mental disorders.
  3. Developing predictive models for mental disorders.

As a methodologist with a strong statistical background, she employs advanced theoretical and data-driven analytical techniques in her research. Currently, she is actively collaborating with the AURORA team at the UNC Chapel Hill, conducting research on the heterogeneous trajectories of adverse post-traumatic neuropsychiatric sequelae among recent trauma survivors.
