Carrie Luu, MD, FACS, elected American College of Surgeons' Governor-at-Large

The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson Department of Surgery is pleased to share clinical assistant professor, Carrie Luu, MD, FACS, has been elected to the American College of Surgeons Board of Governors as the Governor-at-Large representing the Fellows in the Arizona Chapter.
Luu is a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology. Her research interests include hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy, gastrointestinal cancers, and frailty and geriatric oncology. She has published in PLoS One, the Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology and JAMA Oncology. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Association of Women Surgeons, and Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association.
As the newly appointed Governor-at-Large, she will serve as a direct communications link between the Fellows of the College and the members of the Board of Governors. Along with participating in local Committee on Applicants meetings and interviews, she will promote ACS Fellowship in Arizona.
