Dr. Krupinski Honored as 2019 Outstanding Researcher
The Radiology Society of North America (RSNA) honored Elizabeth A. Krupinski, PhD, as 2019 Outstanding Researcher, an honor recognized by the profession throughout the world.
Dr. Krupinski is associate director of research evaluation for the Arizona Telemedicine Program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, and co-director of the Southwest Telehealth Resource Center, also at the University of Arizona.
She is a renowned radiology researcher based at Emory University in Atlanta.
“Her cutting-edge research has had a meaningful impact on the clinical practice of radiology,” RSNA President Valerie P. Jackson, MD, said in a news release.
The organization cited Dr. Krupinski’s research into interpretive accuracy and efficiency, studying the effects of experience level and fatigue through eye-tracking experiments.
Emory University notes that Dr. Krupinski has contributed to more than 280 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is co-editor of the Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare. She received the Academy for Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research Distinguished Investigator Award in 2014, and the American Telemedicine Association President’s Award for Individual Leadership in 2017.
