Presenter details
Kate Coleman-Minahan, PhD, FNP-BC
Assistant Professor, University of Colorado College of Nursing
Coleman-Minahan is an assistant professor at the University of Colorado College of Nursing and a Betty Irene Moore Fellow for Nurse Leaders and Innovators. She has provided primary and sexual and reproductive health care to young people as a family nurse practitioner for over a decade. Her research centers on reproductive health equity and she explores how structural factors, such as public policy, shape young people’s reproductive lives. Dr. Coleman-Minahan is finishing a study on young people’s access to abortion care in California, Colorado, Illinois and Texas and leading a new project on how the intersection of immigration policy and reproductive health policy impacts young women’s reproductive goals and outcomes. Her research has received attention from media outlets such as National Public Radio, Reuters and The Guardian, and has been used in legislative testimony and litigation.
