Health Sciences Design now part of College of Health Sciences
Health Sciences Design
Beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year, Health Sciences Design will be part of the University of Arizona College of Health Sciences.
With the addition of Health Sciences Design, the College of Health Sciences will provide students with more opportunities to discover and develop strengths in important areas of professional specialization and technical competency.
“Welcoming Health Sciences Design to our college significantly strengthens our ability to meet the needs of communities throughout Arizona, including the unique needs of rural and underserved communities” said Kevin C. Lohenry, PhD, PA-C, interim dean of the College of Health Sciences. “The program will offer our students more tools to understand how to improve health care experiences and outcomes for patients.”
The integration has been underway since May, when information about the program was added to the college’s website. Kasi Kiehlbaugh, PhD, is the director and faculty member at Health Sciences Design.
To support its educational mission, the University of Arizona Health Sciences has been committed to establishing academic programs that prepare the next generation of professionals to meet the evolving needs of human health and academic medicine. Health Sciences Design was among those programs, launched in 2019 to provide experiential learning in problem solving and design approaches to improve health and wellness.
