Lohenry’s PA-focused podcasts to be archived by history society

University of Arizona College of Health Sciences interim Dean Kevin Lohenry, PhD, PA-C, will be ending his time as host of the PA Path Podcast after the Dec. 17 edition is published. The podcast, hosted by Lohenry and Stephane VanderMeulen from Creighton University, began in summer 2021 and was designed to provide information to people interested in pursuing a career as a physician assistant, especially economically disadvantaged students. The biweekly podcast will now be produced by PA Education Association and will continue focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion in the profession. Lohenry produced the first three seasons of the show.
The podcast averages 200-300 users per episode and can be found on Spotify, Amazon and Apple podcasts among other outlets. It is listed in the top 10% globally by Listen Notes.
Among topics covered were programs throughout the world including Germany, Ireland, Canada, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. It also covered topics such as preparing to apply to a program, caring for transgender patients, street medicine, rural health, AI in medicine, women’s health, exploring the doctoral degree in PA education, military PAs and research. Lohenry said the PA History Society will be archiving the first 102 episodes.
