The University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health honored its spring 2023 graduating class at Centennial Hall on May 13. A total of 203 public health graduates celebrated the successful conclusion of their programs in front of family, friends and faculty.

“As dean of the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, I am so proud of you all,” Dean Iman Hakim, MD, PhD, MPH, said in her opening remarks. “Each of you has worked hard to earn your degree, and I commend your effort. You have also accomplished that work during an unusually difficult time for our university, our country and our world. I celebrate you for your resilience to stay strong and focused during this challenging time.”

The event honored two Doctor of Public Health graduates, three Doctor of Philosophy graduates, two Master of Science graduates, 62 Master of Public Health graduates, one Bachelor of Arts graduate and 134 Bachelor of Science graduates.

“I wish you every success as you go forward into the world, with passion and dedication, to face the public health challenges of today and tomorrow,” said Dr. Hakim. “Always remember the three P’s of public health: prevention, promotion and protection.”
