Poster with dozens of portraits of people in military uniforms. The poster text reads, “Veterans Day, Honoring all who served.”

In honor of Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11, the University of Arizona Health Sciences Office of Communications would like to take this opportunity to honor and thank our fellow faculty, staff and students for their military service.

Veterans Day is a day to honor those who offered their service for the greater good of the country. Originally, Nov. 11 was declared Armistice Day to denote the end of World War I, but in 1954 President Dwight Eisenhower changed the name to Veterans Day to honor veterans of all branches of service, regardless of war-time service.

Over the past several weeks, we have been compiling photo submissions from veterans across the Health Sciences to create a photo gallery to honor them for Veterans Day. To these veterans and all the others in Health Sciences and our community, thank you for your service to our country.
