The Second Annual SHC Cardiovascular Research Symposium in collaboration with Stanford University and the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research will be held at El Conquistador Resort on February 8-9, 2026.

This collaborative event brings together leading cardiologists and researchers from the University of Arizona, Stanford University and the CNIC Madrid to discuss the latest advancements and breakthroughs in cardiology.

Our program includes a variety of sessions that will cover a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Basic cardiomyocyte biology
  • IPSCs
  • Heart failure
  • Cardiac arrhythmia
  • Cardiovascular epidemiology

The symposium will also include ample networking opportunities, including poster sessions, refreshment breaks, exhibitors and a conference dinner. Details about the abstract competition are included below.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS:

Students, trainees and early career investigators are encouraged to submit their basic and clinical science abstracts to our competition. We welcome submissions on any of the topics listed below:

  • Basic cardiomyocyte biology
  • IPSCs
  • Heart failure
  • Cardiac arrhythmia
  • Cardiovascular epidemiology

Abstract Competition: Four abstracts (two clinical, two basic) will be selected for authors to give five-minute, lightning-round talks on Monday.

Poster Competition: Authors may also choose to be considered for poster presentations on Day 1 or Day 2 of the event. This option can be selected when paying your abstract fee. Poster presentations will be reviewed by selected judges and one winner will be selected from each category (three total winners): graduate student, postdoctoral trainee and early career investigator. Authors selected to give lightning-round presentations will not be considered for the poster competition.

Submission Process: Abstracts should be 250 words or fewer; titles and references do not count toward this word limit. Format should be double-spaced, Size 11 Times New Roman font. Please save your document in .DOCX or .PDF format with title "LASTNAME_ABSTRACT".
