This session will provide you with an understanding of:

  • The USDA Rural Utilities Service Distance Learning and Telemedicine (RUS-DLT) Grant and if your initiatives are competitive for this funding.
  • BEAD funding and Digital Equity Act (DEA) funding, including where we are in the timelines for each and what actions to be taking.
  • Areas to develop and focus on to be competitive in both BEAD and Digital Equity applications.

Beresford is the director of broadband programs at Learn Design Apply Inc. She joined the company mid-pandemic as the digital divide became glaringly evident. Since then, she and her team have helped states, public entities, Tribes and private internet service providers secure over $360 million in broadband infrastructure and digital equity funding. She brings a wealth of knowledge from years spent in Washington D.C., assisting elected state officials address pressing challenges from consumers.
