Event description
The practice and delivery of health care is changing, with an emphasis on improving quality, safety, efficiency and access to care. Telemedicine can help you achieve these goals. The Arizona Telemedicine Program and the Southwest Telehealth Resource Center invite you to a free, one-hour CME webinar on the implementation and practice of telemedicine. CME provided by the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson.
Care management services: What's telehealth vs not telehealth
Asynchronous care management services are vital tools for improving patient outcomes, yet their classification for billing and compliance can be confusing. This webinar will clarify the differences between asynchronous care and telehealth, review payer coverage and documentation requirements, and highlight strategies to integrate these services into practice workflows to enhance compliance, patient engagement, and reimbursement.
Presenter details
Carol Yarbrough, MBA, CCA, CPC, OCS, CHC
National Billing Expert
Outcome objectives
- Differentiate between asynchronous care management services and telehealth services, and accurately classify at least three common scenarios (RPM, CCM, eVisit) as telehealth vs non-telehealth for billing/compliance.
- Apply Medicare and commercial payer coverage rules to see if asynchronous services covered (CCM, RPM, RTM, eConsults) and what kind of documentation is needed.
- Develop at least one workflow or process improvement strategy to integrate asynchronous CM services into clinical practice, while maintaining compliance, improving patient engagement and optimize reimbursement.
