Presenter details
Zhiyong Lin, PhD

Dr. Lin is a tenured associate professor at Emory University whose research centers on the molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular remodeling. He earned his PhD in biomedical sciences from Eastern Virginia Medical School and Old Dominion University in 2002, followed by postdoctoral training in cardiovascular biology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Lin launched his independent research program at Case Western Reserve University in 2010 and joined Emory University in 2017. His lab has made pivotal discoveries in endothelial biology, particularly in elucidating the roles of transcription factors KLF2 and KLF4, as well as cellular communication network proteins in vascular health and disease. His recent work explores the regulation and therapeutic targeting of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) in cardiovascular disorders.
Dr. Lin’s research has been continuously funded by the NIH since 2010 and published in top-tier journals including The Journal of Clinical Investigation, Circulation Research and PNAS. His accolades include the AHA Scientist Development Grant, the NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award and the AHA Established Investigator Award. He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association and serves on editorial boards for journals such as the Journal of Biological Chemistry and Vascular Pharmacology, in addition to reviewing for NIH and AHA grant panels.
