Mohamed Othmed, MD

Dr. Mohamed Othman is an accomplished physician–scientist who holds the Martha Ann and Harold M. Selzman M.D. Endowed Chair and serves as a professor of medicine in the gastroenterology and hepatology section at the Baylor College of Medicine. As chief of the gastroenterology section at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, he oversees clinical excellence while advancing innovation in digestive health. With more than 150 publications and book chapters, Dr. Othman is widely recognized for his expertise in pancreatico-biliary disorders and advanced endoscopic techniques.

His research program — supported by active grant funding — centers on clinical trials in third-space endoscopy, endoscopic submucosal dissection and pancreatico-biliary diseases. He also serves as the senior associate editor for "Gastrointestinal Endoscopy" and is the founder of the Texas Interventional Endoscopy Group, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field through collaboration, scholarship and innovation.
