Please join Gene Hernandez, BS, F-AMBDI, for an intriguing workshop on his career journey as a medicolegal death investigator.

Presenter Details

Hernandez is a chief Investigator with the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner. He earned his Bachelor of Science in criminal justice administration from the University of Phoenix in 2010.

With over 25 years of dedicated service at the Medical Examiner's Office, Hernandez has held multiple roles and has assisted in more than 5,000 autopsies. His extensive experience and expertise have made him a respected figure in the field of medicolegal death investigations.

Hernandez serves as vice president of the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators. He is also a member of the Organization of Scientific Area Committees for forensic science, a federal initiative aimed at developing and promoting best practices and standardized procedures in death investigations across the United States.

His professional interests include collaborating with key community stakeholders, such as federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, as well as funeral service providers, to ensure a coordinated response to death investigations. He is also deeply committed to supporting grieving families with compassion and professionalism during their most difficult times.
