Breanna Sherrow-Serrano, PhD

Dr. Sherrow-Serrano brings over a decade of experience in teaching and academic advising to her current role supporting faculty and resident trainee instructional development in collaboration with the Office of the Vice Chair of Education. Her work focuses on continuous quality improvement and innovation in medical education.

Previously, she served as a senior learning specialist for Graduate Medical Education at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. In this role, she supported residents in preparing for in-training and board examinations and provided academic coaching to those with self-identified or demonstrated learning challenges. She also held positions as a lecturer in the U of A Department of Pediatrics and as adjunct faculty in special education at Pima Community College.

Her experience extends to undergraduate medical education, where she advised medical students during their preclinical years, clerkships and board exam preparations. Earlier in her career, Dr. Sherrow-Serrano was an assistant professor at New Mexico State University, where she taught reading and supported pre-service and in-service teachers in special education.
