Dr. Alhammoud completed advanced spine surgery fellowships at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, SUNY Upstate Medical University, Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center and Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar. He earned a Master of Science in clinical research through a joint program between Dresden International University and Harvard Medical School and completed an ACGME-I accredited orthopedic surgery residency.

He is a clinical assistant professor of orthopedics and an American Board of Spine Surgery–certified spine surgeon specializing in minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery, pediatric and adult spinal deformity, and advanced robotic and navigation-assisted techniques. Dr. Alhammoud is the co-founder of the Virtual Spine Surgery Research Academy, an initiative designed to connect medical students and residents with spine surgeons to advance high-quality, evidence-based spine research. He is an active member of the Scoliosis Research Society, the North American Spine Society and AO Spine.  Dr. Alhammoud’s research focuses on spine surgery outcomes and perioperative pain management. He has authored 47 peer-reviewed publications in leading spine and orthopedic journals and has presented more than 30 abstracts internationally.

Dedicated to service and global outreach, Dr. Alhammoud has participated in multiple international spine surgery missions and volunteered with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) during the Syrian war, providing care in complex humanitarian environments. A former decathlon athlete, he remains actively involved in competitive athletics and regularly competes in regional and national USA Track & Field Masters events across the United States.
