Call for applications: NIH-funded training program for early career faculty and transitioning postdocs

Wednesday

College of Medicine – Tucson

The Arizona Approaches to Pandemics, Lungs and Sleep Program, or AAPLS, will nationally recruit eligible and qualified individuals and provide them with advanced training experiences and long-term mentoring that will enable them to develop a research program and work with their home institutions to obtain NIH funding, develop their careers and gain leadership skills.

The research training experiences will be tailored to the trainee and designed to enhance their research skills, experiences and knowledge base in lung and sleep-related breathing disorders. We will also provide training in specific scientific areas of infectious and immunobiological consequences of the post-infectious sequelae on lung and sleep using cross-cutting methodological approaches.

Key features of the AAPLS Program include:

  • Workshops to develop skills in writing competitive grant proposals.
  • Individualized training and long-term mentoring by experienced faculty members.
  • Paid trips to summer research institutes and the annual NIH PRIDE meeting.
  • Opportunities to present research findings and network with peers and experts.

Applicants are encouraged to visit pridecc.wustl.edu/apply for more information and to submit their applications.
