College of Health Sciences launches new website
College of Health Sciences
In June, the Arizona Board of Regents approved the new University of Arizona College of Health Sciences. Today, the college has launched a website designed to provide a welcoming door for future students, faculty and staff to walk through and explore.
Founded with the mission of addressing critical health care needs in the state of Arizona, the college will initially offer five graduate-level programs in Midwifery, Physician Assistant, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Genetic Counseling and Clinical Translational Sciences.
“This new college will augment the educational programs we currently offer through our two accredited medical schools and our colleges of nursing, pharmacy and public health,” Michael D. Dake, MD, senior vice president for the University of Arizona Health Sciences said after the ABOR announcement in June. “The health care professionals and research scientists that graduate from the College of Health Sciences will play a vital role in meeting the needs of Arizona residents and alleviating health disparities throughout the state.”
The new website includes news and information about the programs and academic offerings as well as a directory of faculty and staff. The goal of the site is to not only invite students to discover the programs, but also become a hub for news on the college’s areas of specialization.
