More than a sale: Festivus is an annual celebration of community and student success
Campus Store
The Campus Store provides an average of over $5 million each year to support campus programs and student needs. The popular Festivus Employee Appreciation Event, where faculty and staff members can save 40% on one item and 30% on their entire purchase (with some exclusions), plays a key role in that effort. On Nov. 14, employees can shop for the holidays while helping fund initiatives that advance student success.
Proceeds from Festivus and other Campus Store operations support a wide range of university programs — from student scholarships and organizations to literacy initiatives and community partnerships.
Community engagement and partnerships
Community engagement is a top priority for the Campus Store. The Community Engagement Center on the store's lower level hosts a variety of campus and Tucson community groups free of charge, providing organizations with a space to meet and collaborate.
Each year, the Campus Store dedicates over $115,000 to youth literacy initiatives and the Tucson Festival of Books, giving children in Tucson and across Arizona access to books, resources and events that spark imagination and learning.
Investing in the future with student scholarships
Each year, the Campus Store supports student success by contributing about $71,000 in scholarships, supporting roughly 275 students. These scholarships relieve financial burdens and help students focus on their studies and pursue passions and meaningful careers. The impact extends beyond tuition, helping Wildcats pursue their goals and thrive academically.
Investing in student programs
The Campus Store directs more than $578,000 annually to student organizations, leadership programs and the Associated Students of the University of Arizona. From clubs to service organizations and recreational groups, these contributions help students build community and create experiences that define their college journey. Through the Pay One Price program, course materials are made more affordable so that students in STEM programs are not held back by the high cost of textbooks and other required resources.
Engagement Showcase
On Friday, Nov. 14, Festivus will feature refreshments, prizes and entertainment with the Faculty and Staff Choir and the Los Toritos de White Elementary Mariachi Group. The Engagement Showcase on the lower level will highlight resources from partners, including Parking and Transportation Services, Campus Health, the Office of Sustainability, Student Success, UA Cares, the Sands Club, the Office of Public Safety, the Campus Pantry, Life and Work Connections and Campus Community Connections.
