Nearly 300 students received degrees from U of A College of Nursing during 2025 fall convocation

Graduates will help alleviate shortfall of nurses across Arizona, nation.

The University of Arizona College of Nursing proudly hosted its fall 2025 convocation and awards ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 18, at Centennial Hall.

The event featured an introduction from Faculty Council Chair Julio Loya, PhD, a warm welcome from Dean Brian Ahn, PhD, and an inspiring keynote address from Kara Snyder, PhD, RN, assistant vice president of Tucson Medical Center.

Families, friends, faculty members and the Wildcat community came together to celebrate the graduates' outstanding dedication, perseverance and commitment to the nursing profession. These new alumni are poised to make a lasting difference as compassionate caregivers, advocates and innovators in health care. 

The college conferred 295 degrees and three nursing practice graduate certificates. The specific degrees awarded were:

  • Four in the Doctor of Philosophy program;
  • 79 in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program;
  • 88 in the Master Entry to the Profession of Nursing programs; and
  • 124 in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
