Big poker party a big deal for Tucson children's charity

The 20th Anniversary Big Deal Poker Party – Vegas, Baby! on Friday, Sept. 22, at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, will raise funds for the Steele Children’s Research Center. The center is slated to receive $800,000 to fund the renovation of five laboratories and a research office at the Angel Charity for Children Wings for Genetic Research.

Teens and library climb to the top of Arizona

The Cottonwood Public Library, in partnership with the Cottonwood Parks and Recreation Department, took a group of teenagers to the top of the Mount Humphreys trail in Flagstaff on July 16 as part of the Get Out program. Get Out was funded by a grant from the American Library Association, in conjunction with the Center for Rural Health in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.
