Binational Health Fair and Leadership Summit To Focus on Shared Health Challenges
The summit focuses on developing a public health approach for programs and policies that benefit the people of both countries and the border region.

In recognition and celebration of Binational Health Week XXI, health leaders from the United States and Mexico will gather at the Phoenix location of the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health for the U.S./Mexico Binational Health Leadership Summit on Oct. 13-14. Activities include the Binational Health Fair, an outdoor event that is free and open to the public.
Meetings at the U.S./Mexico Binational Health Leadership Summit will help develop a coordinated public health approach for programs and policies to benefit the people from both nations. The agenda will include meetings of the U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission and the Ventanillas de Salud Advisory Council. Summit meetings will be conducted in English and Spanish with interpreting available.
Media and the public are invited to attend the opening ceremony at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, which will be followed by a tour of the Health Fair at 10 a.m. The Binational Health Fair will be open 8 a.m. to noon.
Among the health, education and government leaders attending the Summit are Esteban Moctezuma Barragan, Ambassador of Mexico to the United States, University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins, MD, Cecilia Rosales, MD, MS, associate dean of Phoenix programs for the UArizona Zuckerman College of Public Health, and Justin Dutram, Arizona Global assistant vice president for Mexico initiatives.
