International Conference on Public Health Addresses Global Issues

We live in an interconnected world where public health depends on each other and our environments, and the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted strengths and weaknesses on a global level. On March 24-26, the International Conference on Public Health will bring together experts to present the most recent innovations, developments and concerns, as well as practical challenges and solutions, in the fields of public health.

The conference, organized by Mohan Tanniru, PhD, professor in the Division of Public Health Practice and Translational Research in the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, in collaboration with faculty at the Public Health Research Center at Navrachana University in India, will feature presentations by public health professionals, clinicians, researchers, practitioners, policy makers, academicians and related professionals. They will reflect on a wide range of subjects including information technology in public health, public health management, environmental and occupational health, emerging and re-emerging infections, noncommunicable diseases, maternal and fetal health, and more.

UArizona Zuckerman College of Public Health Dean Iman Hakim, PhD, is a guest of honor at the conference, which has morning, afternoon and evening sessions each day starting at 9 a.m. India Standard Time (8:30 p.m. PDT). For participants in Arizona, the evening sessions begin at 5 a.m. (PDT). All sessions are in English.
