Seed grant for researchers using All of Us dataset due Jan. 19

The All of Us Research Program at the University of Arizona and Banner Health announces a Request for Proposals for seed grants to fund utilization of the program’s dataset.
All of Us UArizona-Banner Health seeks to identify and support research projects that take advantage of the All of Us Researcher Workbench infrastructure for developing precision health strategies to fuel medical discoveries. The purpose of these grants is to encourage investigators to leverage and interrogate the Workbench data and participate as research partners in feasibility testing regarding access to support resources. These seed grants will provide up to $40,000 (inclusive of indirect costs) per competitive grant awarded.
The University of Arizona and Banner Health lead an Arizona-based consortium of the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Research Program. The program aims to build one of the largest and most diverse databases of health information of its kind by gathering genetic, lifestyle and environmental information from one million or more people. Researchers can access this health data to perform thousands of studies on many different conditions. This can lead to better care and answers for all of us.
As a government-funded program committed to open data and science, All of Us makes data broadly accessible to researchers of all kinds to support thousands of studies across a wide range of health topics. More than 500,000 participants have completed initial steps of the program, including providing bio samples for analysis. The dataset includes over 245,350 whole genomes and more than 312,900 genotyping arrays, as well as data on social determinants of health, enabling new opportunities for research.
The 2023-2024 seed grants represent a unique opportunity for researchers as the dataset reflects the rich diversity of the United States. More than 75% of the data comes from people who identify with communities traditionally underrepresented in biomedical research, 45% of whom identify with underrepresented racial and ethnic communities.
