Simpkins joins College of Health Sciences as a senior associate dean

Alice “Allie” Min Simpkins, MD, FACEP, has joined the University of Arizona College of Health Sciences as senior associate dean for faculty affairs and inclusion. She began her role on Sept. 2.
Min had served an assistant dean of career development for the Office of Faculty Affairs and professor of Emergency Medicine in the College of Medicine – Tucson’s Department of Emergency Medicine.
Min has been recognized for her leadership with the James Keaney Award from the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. She has also been honored for her teaching with the Provost Award for Innovation in Teaching as well as the Academic Teaching Award for the Department of Emergency Medicine.
She earned her bachelor’s degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She went on to complete her residency in emergency medicine with the University of Arizona where she was chosen as the chief resident during her last year of training. She has practiced clinically and served as a faculty member in the emergency department for 17 years where she also served as associate residency program director for seven years. She is a member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine as well as the Arizona College of Emergency Physicians.
Min will be leading the college’s Office of Faculty Affairs, and she will be working with the college’s leadership, faculty, staff and students on best practices in inclusion.
