STEP-UP accepting applications for summer 2025
Student Transformative Research Experiences to Progress Undergraduate/Graduate Professionals
The Student Transformative Research Experiences to Progress Undergraduate/Graduate Professionals in cancer research, or STEP-UP, is now recruiting for summer 2025. STEP-UP an immersive paid 10-week (June 9 - Aug. 15, 2025) research opportunity through the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and the U of A Cancer Center.
Through this program, participants will work on a mentored research project that aligns with their interests. They will be matched with one of our 50 faculty mentors in Cancer Prevention and Control. A unique aspect of this program is its intensive and interdisciplinary training. In addition to their mentored research, participants will participate in community outreach and engagement, personal cancer prevention and develop academic and professional skills essential to a career in research.
STEP-UP is open to undergraduate juniors, seniors and master’s-level students for the fall 2025 semester who meet the eligibility requirements detailed on our website. This program offers mentored research opportunities to students from all backgrounds. Individuals from underrepresented groups, non-traditional and first-generation students are especially encouraged to apply.
