Women of Impact nominations accepted through May 30

Nominations are open for Women of Impact 2024

During Women’s History Month in 2022, the Office of Research, Innovation & Impact announced the Women of Impact initiative, which recognizes researchers, innovators and community organizers who, through their work at the University of Arizona, are paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future and lasting change.

Building upon the success of the past two years, the third annual Women of Impact celebration will recognize a new cohort and their remarkable achievements. Nominations for that event are due by May 30, 2024. 

Please consider nominating an inspiring faculty or staff member who has significantly contributed to our identity as one of the nation’s leading research institutions. 

As part of RII's commitment to celebrating women making an impact at the university, across the state and around the world, we embrace the transformative power of diversity and equity and recognize contributions made by cisgender women, transgender women and all who identify as women. The Women of Impact initiative is committed to welcoming nominations from all areas of research and scholarship that center investigation and inquiry, including the arts, humanities and social sciences as well as traditional STEM fields.

The selection committee will carefully score awardees based on the following criteria, so keep these in mind as you compile your candidate’s nomination package:

• Faculty and staff who are women paving the way for a better future.
• Application of unique skillset to advance creative and scholarly inquiry, discovery and innovation.
• Fostering a culture of collaboration among university colleagues and/or external partners.
• Utilization of knowledge and/or position to empower and mentor others.
• Commitment to our identity as one of the nation’s top research institutions.
• Demonstrated commitment to the university’s mission and values.
