HealthTech Connect, an initiative of the University of Arizona Health Sciences, is partnering with the Center to Stream Healthcare in Place to present the latest in research successes and health care technologies during an interactive event Dec. 15 from noon to 5:30 p.m. at the Phoenix Bioscience Core and online.

Kathleen Insel, PhD, RN, is interim dean of the UArizona College of Nursing and director of Innovations in Healthy Aging.

Registration is required for the free event that will feature a networking lunch and reception for in-person attendees.

The keynote speaker is Kathleen Insel, PhD, RN, interim dean of the UArizona College of Nursing and director of Innovations in Healthy Aging, whose research involves developing a mobile application to improve medication adherence in older adults. She will talk about advances in research and technology to support healthy aging, including the consideration of human factors in designing technology.

Aegis Consortium Director Janko Nikolich-Žugich, MD, PhD, Bowman Professor and head of the Department of Immunobiology in the College of Medicine – Tucson, will give a presentation on developing solutions to prevent future pandemics.

In addition to the featured speakers, the event will include a panel discussion on using virtual reality and artificial intelligence in stress and health management and interactive exhibits.
