Rachel Reinhardt named new associate vice president of Health Sciences communications
Please join me in welcoming Rachel Reinhardt, our new University of Arizona Health Sciences Office of Communications associate vice president. She will lead the team charged with telling your stories of success, leadership and collaboration throughout the UArizona Health Sciences, the wider university and around the world.

Reinhardt joins the university after a distinctive career in health communications, most recently as the senior vice president for communications for the internationally renowned Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. The Ludwig Institute has research facilities at top academic institutions worldwide, including Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Oxford University and Stanford University.
During her time at Ludwig, Reinhardt led a team of communicators who created strategically aligned internal and external communications to a wide range of stakeholders.
In addition, Reinhardt was the national director of marketing and communications for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and helped the organization create new strategies to share the inspiring work JDRF was conducting to cure Type 1 diabetes.
She has a deep foundation in international health communications as well. As the senior director of global communications for the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, she worked with teams in Africa, Europe, India and North America to develop communications strategies that met diverse, local needs.
Before moving to health communications, Reinhardt was vice president of communications at France Telecom North America and a manager of industry analyst relations at Burson-Marsteller. She graduated from Yale University with a BA in French and International Studies.
