Kathy Kudravi
Kathy leads the University of Arizona Health Sciences internal communications team. She creates and directs internal content and communication strategy in alignment with the university, Health Sciences and individual college missions and priorities. With the primary goal of engagement and knowledge sharing across the six Health Sciences colleges, Kathy works in conjunction with not only those colleges, but the wider university community to promote the culture and celebrate the people of Health Sciences.
Before joining the university in 2021, Kathy spent more than 30 years in sports media, the first 13 years as a reporter and editor at newspapers across the Midwest and South before shifting to TV. She moved to network television in 1999 when she joined ESPN as a coordinating producer. While there, she won two national Emmy Awards for her work on the network’s flagship show, SportsCenter. After moving to CNN in 2012, she was awarded a Foreign Press Association Story of the Year Award in 2013 for her documentary “World Sport Presents: Branded A Rebel.” In 2015, she helped launch the American Sports Network. She moved to Arizona to teach at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Kent State University and a Master of Arts in Communication from ASU.
