Center for Advanced Molecular and Immunological Therapies

Research and Discovery
The Center for Advanced Molecular and Immunological Therapies is a biomedical research hub focused on translating basic discoveries in immunology into new biotechnology companies and therapies for cancer, autoimmunity and infectious diseases. CAMI serves as the anchor for the Phoenix Bioscience Core’s innovation district, a center of research, start-up activity and corporate engagement.
CAMI’s first three projects have already resulted in public-private partnerships, including efforts to:

Cure Type 1 diabetes in partnership with the new startup company Aleutian Therapeutics.

Develop platforms that prevent the progression of autoimmune diseases in partnership with Module Therapeutics.

Personalize cancer therapies in partnership with Univercells.
The research done by CAMI scientists will durably return rewards in the form of new biotechnology startups, therapies and diagnostics.
The University of Arizona has a strong foundation of basic immunology research, translational medicine, investigator-led clinical trials, and an academic culture of teamwork and boldness, and seeks to attract talented innovators to help catalyze the vision of CAMI.
