Helene M. Langevin, MD
Dr. Langevin is director of the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) at the National Institutes of Health, where she leads research on the science, safety and usefulness of integrative health approaches. Her work as a physician-scientist has focused on connective tissue, chronic pain and therapies like acupuncture, manual- and movement-based treatments, with recent studies on stretching and inflammation. Before joining the NIH in 2018, she directed the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital and held academic positions at Harvard and the University of Vermont. Dr. Langevin earned her MD from McGill University and completed her training at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
